Anxiety Therapy for Women
a holistic, embodied, and relational approach that works.
You’re ready to feel different
You've done years of this work. You can name your triggers, your patterns, your go-to coping skills — probably better than I could guess them.
But your body still feels tense. Your stomach is uneasy. Your mind doesn’t shut off. Your energy is drained. And you often feel irritable, impatient, or withdrawn in your closest relationships.
You’re not doing anything wrong.
The ‘work’ has simply stalled at the mind, and the rest of you never got included.
I don't focus on coping skills or reframing your thoughts. If you're here, I'm assuming you've outgrown that.
What we do instead is go underneath the anxiety — into your nervous system, your history, and the self-protection patterns your body developed a long time ago.
Your symptoms of anxiety are just that, symptoms. And instead of offering you quick tips and advice for those symptoms.. we’re going to address their root causes at the body-level so that the way you feel in your daily life fundamentally changes.
More joyous, present & alive.
About Root Wellness
A Modern & Holistic Approach to Therapy
Hi, I’m Alissa—Licensed Therapist & Owner of Root Wellness, LLC
I spent most of my life trying to think my way out of anxiety. It wasn’t until I learned how to move it through my body that things began to change.
One thing I am certain of is that our repressed emotions and unresolved experiences/stressors live in our muscles, our fascia, and our energetic bodies.
When we spend therapy sessions only talking and cognitively processing, so much of that repressed stuff stays stuck. If you’re here, you’re probably already pretty self-aware.
You don’t really need more insights. You need integration.
We integrate by involving the body in the work. In our sessions together, you can expect to gently move your body to help shift your stuck emotions/repressed stuff (my fancy terminology) and truly integrate the insights you’re coming to.
I also believe that our relationship is of utmost importance. Our therapeutic relationship mirrors all other relationships in your life. As we observe and nurture our relationship in real time, it helps to heal relational wounds you’ve been carrying since childhood— because we all have them.
This holistic combination of gentle, somatic-based movement, relationship nurturing, and nervous system awareness WITH cognitive insight is what really moves the needle and helps you shift out of chronic anxiety for good.
