Anxiety Therapy for Women

holistic, somatic, body-based psychotherapy with a therapist who gets it.

You’re ready to feel different

You're not lacking in insight. You’ve probably uncovered your triggers, your patterns, and a list of coping skills.

In fact, you might be tired of the healing work that has left you feeling more like a project than a human. You’re tired of talking about it, circling the same conversations, without it changing how you feel.

Most days, your body still feels tense. Your stomach is uneasy. Your mind doesn’t shut off. Your energy is drained. And you’re not the version of yourself you wish you could be.

I want you to know, you’re not doing anything wrong.

The ‘work’ has simply stalled at the mind, and the rest of you never got included.

In our work together, we won’t stop at the level of thoughts. That singular approach to managing anxiety never worked for me, so I had to find another way.

What we do instead is go underneath the anxiety — into your nervous system and your subconscious beliefs about who you should and shouldn’t be— and we address them by including your body in the conversation.

Because your symptoms of anxiety are just that, symptoms. And instead of offering you quick tips and advice for those symptoms.. we’re going to address their root causes at the body-level so that the way you feel in your daily life fundamentally changes.

More joyous, present & alive.

A Modern & Holistic Approach to Therapy

Hi, I’m Alissa—Licensed Psychotherapist, Somatic Embodiment Teacher, & Founder of Root Wellness, LLC

I spent most of my life trying to think my way out of anxiety. It wasn’t until I learned how to move it through my body that things began to change.

When we spend therapy sessions only talking and cognitively processing, so much of that repressed energy stays stuck.

If you’re here, you’re probably already pretty self-aware.

You don’t really need more insights. You need integration.

We integrate by involving the body in the work. In our sessions together, you can expect some gentle movement and breath work that shifts stuck emotions, regulates your nervous system, and helps all your insights land in your body so you actually feel different.

Together, we will explore what your anxiety may be communicating through your body— about your emotions, relationships, and patterns.

This holistic combination of somatics and nervous system awareness WITH cognitive insight is what really moves the needle and helps you release the weight of chronic anxiety for good.
